A short article with the result and some photos of the recent HOTT 2nd Edition tournament held in Bristol, England. Text and images provided by the organisers.
“A gaming colleague and I attended the BarnHott 2025 event in Bristol on Sunday, hosted by the Lincombe Barn Wargames Society and generously sponsored by Alternative Armies. There were prizes for first, second, third and as traditional for last as well.
There were a healthy dozen players, including organiser Nick, and we got five rounds of Hordes of the Things games in. The winner of the day, with an excellent 5/5 score sheet, was Keith McGlynn, using a Sumerian mythology ‘Azag and the Stone Allies’ army (as listed in the Hott rules book). Keith was awarded the main prize of a 15mm Alternative Armies High Elf army. Runner up, using a Frozen Beastmen army, was Mark Fry, who received a pack of Alternative Armies Security Force Alpha Scouts, while in third place came Connor Truby (using Dwarves), being awarded a Venetian Ambassador Foot and Mounted pack from the 15mm Furioso 16th Century Renaissance Range. Steve E. won the coveted Chocolate Dragon; for ending in last place.
All in all, we had a fun day of dicing with disaster- Hott is an enjoyable set of rules, with almost endless possibilities for army creation.
Many thanks to Gavin at Alternative Armies for sponsoring the event, and to Nick and the LBWS team for running the day.”
