Firbolg and Collector of Heads painted by Mogsy Makes
It has taken us a bit of time (well since late on in 2023) to get this wee article up on our news site but today is the day! With kind permission a couple of Celtic Mythology pictures from the collection of the talented Mogsy Makes. You can see his extensive collection of miniatures including lots of mythological set up’s over on Instagram. For us it is the Erin 28mm Celtic Mythology Range and two photos which are rather cool.
The warriors of the ‘people of the bag’ the Fir Bolg are a proud and ancient people of Erin. Led by their hero Streng of the Iron Club and the magicks of Tanai the Spell Weaver they contest the land against the Sidhe and the Fomorians. We have an entire warband of these miniatures and they can be found in CM20, CM21, CM27 and CM26 codes. Mogsy sets his warriors superbly painted in a landscape of his making with a backdrop made by JonnyHodsonArt whom you can follow on Instagram. The banner bearer is a neat conversion and our own one is CM27-03.
The Babd Macha otherwise known as ‘The collector of Heads’ is an aspect of the Morrigan, the War Witch. Celtic Goddess of war and battle. This aspect is called the 'Washer at the Ford' or Mast of Macha this is an omen of ill fortune for those who see her. Code CM24 in the range for the four types. The backdrop is by JonnyHodsonArt. It is our intention to expand the number of scenic and bits and sprues in the Erin Range as we have done with CM32 and this will include Stone Circles and Cairns (all part of the Spring Mega Event in April) but Mogsy beat us to it wonderfully with pole mounted heads (by Gripping Beast) and Crows (by Great Escape Games) and its great!
We have the largest range of 28mm Celtic Mythology miniatures in the world (that we are aware of) and we are very proud of it. Work proceeds very slowly upon a new rules set and all the new releases are factored into it including the dozen Fomorian Warriors and twenty Pucci of recent times. We also created ALT003 an aspect of our Mascot Alternia which was given away free in 2022.
